- What is your minimum age for boarding a dog?
Our primary concern is the welfare of your pets. For this reason, our minimum boarding age for dogs is 4 months. It is generally recommended that puppies get their first round of “adult” shots at 12 weeks (including rabies), and the second round at 16 weeks. Additionally, in any kennel environment, a young pup could possibly be exposed to airborne viruses it could not fight off. Our recommendation is to board puppies at your veterinarian's office until they have reached our minimum age requirement.
- How do I register my pet for Boarding/Day Care?
We are more than happy to take your information over the phone or you can register online. Please remember to make reservations early for major holidays, as we do book up several months in advance.
- What do I need to bring for Boarding?
Countryside Pet Estates requires owners to bring your dog’s food from home. Rapidly changing your pet’s diet and environment by boarding can cause stress and upset stomachs. We can provide our in-house food for an additional $5 per day, but would prefer to feed your pet his/her own food to avoid undue stress. If your pet requires medication, please bring medication in original prescription bottles and we will administer for FREE as directed. Your pet’s favorite blankets and toys are welcome, but please write their name on the items and try to limit to 2 items.
- What vaccinations are required at Countryside Pet Estates?
Countryside Pet Estates requires three vaccinations for our dogs: Rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella and two for our cats: Rabies and FVRCP. Please make sure the vaccinations are up to date or for your convenience, we are more than happy to contact your veterinarian to obtain current vaccination records. Unfortunately, without proof of current vaccination records, we would be unable to accept your pet into our facility.
- Why is my pet so thirsty upon getting home from a boarding visit?
It's natural and you should expect your pet to be a bit dehydrated from all the excitement once you get them home. While in our care, pets are monitored carefully for their consumption of fresh water, which is continuously checked and refreshed throughout the day.
- Do you have a Cancellation Policy?
We understand plans change at the last minute. We would request at least 72 hour notice for a cancellation. During peak holidays, we may require a non-refundable $50 deposit for all new customers. The deposit will be applied to your final bill.
- What time do I need to pick up my boarded pet?
Pets that stay overnight need to be picked up by 12:00 pm (EST) in order to avoid an additional boarding fee. Pets participating in Day Care need to be picked up prior to closing time or a boarding rate fee as well as any other fees will be applied for their stay.
